Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900 g) fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
 - 1 ½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
 - 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh is best — it balances sweetness and helps it set)

Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Strawberries:
Wash and hull strawberries. Cut them into halves or quarters depending on size.
2️⃣ Combine Ingredients:
In a large saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
Mix well and let it sit for 10 minutes — this helps draw out the juices.
3️⃣ Cook the Jam:
Place the pan over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally.
Mash some of the strawberries with a fork or potato masher for a smoother texture, but leave some chunks for that homemade feel.
4️⃣ Simmer:
Reduce heat slightly and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the jam thickens.
To test: drop a bit on a chilled plate — if it holds its shape when you run your finger through it, it’s ready!
5️⃣ Cool & Store:
Let the jam cool slightly, then pour it into clean, sterilized jars.
Allow to cool completely before sealing tightly.
Tips for Perfect Jam
The longer you cook, the thicker it gets — just don’t overcook or it’ll get sticky.
For a smoother jam, blend the strawberries before cooking.
Add a little vanilla extract or mint leaves for a gourmet twist!
Storage
- Keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
 - Freeze for up to 3 months.
 - If properly canned and sealed, it can last up to 1 year in a cool, dark place.
